On March 19, information from Quynh Thuan Border Guard Station, Nghe An Provincial Border Guard said that they are deploying forces with local people to search for 4 fishermen on a fishing boat missing due to a sunken boat.
Previously, at around 6:30 p.m. on March 18, the Lach Quyen Border Control Station and Quynh Thuan Border Guard Station received a report from Mr. Pham Dang (Van Hai Commune, Quynh Luu District, Nghe An Province) who was the owner of the NA 80-209-TS fishing boat, saying that at 6:00 p.m. the same day, the NA 80-209-TS fishing boat captained by Mr. Nguyen Van Cuong was on its way into the channel when it sank.
At this time, on the boat, in addition to the captain, there were 3 fishermen, Tran Van Huu (born in 1995), Le Tuan Anh (born in 2005), all residing in Van Hai commune, Quynh Luu district and Bui Sy Nhat (born in 1977, residing in Thuan Long commune, Quynh Luu district). The location of the sunken ship was determined to be nearly 20 nautical miles from shore, about 5 nautical miles east of Mat Island.
Having discovered a line of NA 80-209-TS, the NA-80054-TS fishing boat is currently tied to its line; however, the four fishermen on board are still missing.
The search is being actively deployed by the forces.
