On the morning of December 17, Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Secretary Nghiem Xuan Thanh chaired the second business dialogue conference in 2024.
Khanh Hoa's development space is still very large.
Mr. Nghiem Xuan Thanh assessed that Khanh Hoa will enter a decade of growth with a large growth rate, striving to maintain indicators above double digits. That is the economic growth rate, the budget revenue strives to reach 50,000 billion VND by 2030 and the growth rate of investment attraction and per capita income.
Khanh Hoa Secretary predicted that from 2025 to 2030, Khanh Hoa will attract investment with a total amount of about 700,000 billion VND. In addition, the average income per capita by 2030 will reach over 180 million VND/year.
“In order for Khanh Hoa to become a centrally-governed city with an average income per capita equal to 1.75 times the average income of the whole country…” - Mr. Nghiem Xuan Thanh explained.
Once again, Mr. Nghiem Xuan Thanh emphasized that Khanh Hoa province will have a very strong industrial space in the coming time. However, he also stated that industrial development must be sustainable, protect the environment and at the same time create jobs for workers.
Currently, Khanh Hoa is converging comprehensively on transport infrastructure such as the North-South expressway, East-West expressway, and high-speed railway. The well-invested transport infrastructure also creates momentum for the tourism industry to develop.
It is expected that in early 2025, Khanh Hoa will bid and select investors to implement a 12,000-hectare resort tourism project in Cam Lam district. Along with that, Khanh Hoa also plans to implement 12 golf courses in 2025.
Mr. Nghiem Xuan Thanh said that Khanh Hoa has basically completed the standards and conditions and there are a number of strategic investors interested in the construction.
Regarding Van Phong airport, Khanh Hoa province leaders have met with a number of strategic investors. It is expected that when put into operation, Van Phong airport will welcome about 5-7 million passengers/year.
Regarding the agricultural sector, the Khanh Hoa Secretary recognized the need to increase the value of land and water areas. He said that the goal is that agriculture is the pillar of farmers; on an area of land and sea, people must have higher income.
To do this, Khanh Hoa must focus on re-planning agricultural land areas. Clarify each planning location, where to plant what trees, raise what animals, and develop tourism in which areas?
Focus on solving business difficulties
At the business dialogue conference, Khanh Hoa Secretary stated that removing difficulties for businesses is important. Because when implementing the contents of socio-economic development and attracting investment, if only relying on public investment capital will be very difficult. It must be determined that public investment capital will lead private investment.
Therefore, Khanh Hoa must focus on removing obstacles for local businesses. In addition, the province also needs to focus on unlocking resources to create momentum for growth in the coming time.
Mr. Nghiem Xuan Thanh gave an example of attracting industrial investment but the land is not “clean” and there is no resettlement support. If so, high-class investors will not be interested in investing. Along with that, the government must speed up the settlement of administrative procedures; resolve difficulties, obstacles, bottlenecks, and inadequacies in state management.
