On the morning of December 7, Mr. Tran Phong - Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee issued a telegram requesting departments, branches and localities to proactively deploy response measures to the tropical depression (ATND) that is moving rapidly and is expected to enter the East Sea on December 9.
According to the Official Dispatch, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested Directors of Departments; Heads of provincial departments, branches, and unions; Chairmen of People's Committees of communes, wards, and special zones to closely monitor the developments of the tropical depression.
Organize the counting and strictly manage the means of transport going out to sea; promptly notify the location, direction of movement and developments of the tropical depression so that ship owners and captains can proactively avoid and not move into the danger zone.
The dangerous area in the next 48 hours is determined to be from 10.5-13 degrees North latitude to 118 degrees East longitude and will be adjusted in the next forecasts.
The Department of Agriculture and Environment is assigned to closely coordinate with units and localities to count and notify owners and captains of tropical depressions; instruct ships to stay away from dangerous areas.
The Provincial Border Guard Command strengthens control of ships at seaports; coordinates with military and police forces to prepare means and human resources to support response and rescue when necessary.
The provincial Hydrometeorological Station continues to closely monitor the tropical depression and provide timely information to authorities and people.
Departments and branches are assigned according to their functions to prepare measures to ensure the safety of infrastructure, production, supply of electricity, water, telecommunications and essential goods.
Localities organize 24/7 on-duty, closely monitor the development of natural disasters and promptly report to the Provincial People's Committee, the Provincial Civil Defense Command and the Department of Agriculture and Environment.
According to the Khanh Hoa Province Hydrometeorological Station, at 7:00 a.m. on December 7, the tropical depression was operating in the central Philippines with strong winds of level 6 (39-49km/h), gusting to level 8.
The tropical depression is moving westward at a speed of about 15km/h and is forecast to enter the East Sea on December 9.
