On the afternoon of December 24, Bao Loc City People's Committee organized a surprise award ceremony for two outstanding examples in spreading good values of daily life, study and training.
Ms. Le Thi Kim Ngan (40 years old, residing in Xuan Huong commune, Xuan Loc district, Dong Nai province) received an unexpected Certificate of Merit for her action of picking up lost property and returning it to its owner.
Previously, while trading at the Bao Loc City Trade Fair on Hoang Van Thu Street (Ward 1), Ms. Ngan discovered a handbag left behind at the counter.
Upon inspection, she discovered that the bag contained a large amount of gold (4 taels of 9999 gold, worth more than 320 million VND), a sum of foreign currency, and identification papers in the name of Ms. Ph.T.L (residing in Bao Loc city).
Ms. Ngan immediately brought the above assets to Ward 1 Police for assistance in verifying and returning them to the owner. After investigation, Ward 1 Police contacted Ms. L and coordinated with Ms. Ngan to complete the procedures for returning the assets.
The Chairman of Bao Loc City People's Committee also awarded Dang Le Huy, a 10A1 student at Bao Loc High School, for his excellent performance at the World Super Memory Competition held in Türkiye in December 2023.
The Vietnamese team participating in this competition has three members from Lam Dong province including: World Super Memory Record holder Dang Ngoc Phuong Trinh (Di Linh district), athlete Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao (Duc Trong district), and student Dang Le Huy (Bao Loc city).
As a result, Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao won the Gold Cup in the mind map category; Dang Ngoc Phuong Trinh won 2 silver medals and 1 bronze medal; and Dang Le Huy won third prize in the super memory category and was awarded the Super Memory certificate.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Ngo Van Ninh, Chairman of Bao Loc City People's Committee, expressed his gratitude to Ms. Le Thi Kim Ngan for her noble gesture and congratulated Dang Le Huy on his outstanding achievements.
Mr. Ninh emphasized: "These meaningful actions and outstanding achievements will spread strongly, becoming shining examples in life, work, study and training."
