According to the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department (PCCC and CNCH), the trial exercise is to prepare well for the upcoming fire prevention and rescue exercise of Kien Giang province at Rach Gia Inland Waterway Port. This is a large-scale, important exercise, all work is carefully and strictly inspected.
The Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department coordinated with Port management units to organize a fire prevention and rescue drill. The hypothetical situation was a fire at the wharf area, with strong smoke and fire, threatening human life and causing great risk of property damage.
Immediately after the incident, the Port’s on-site fire prevention and fighting force activated the alarm system, evacuated people and property, and carried out initial fire fighting measures. After that, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police force deployed specialized vehicles, including fire trucks and water spray equipment, to control the situation, extinguish the fire, and rescue people trapped in dangerous areas.
The exercise is an opportunity to assess the response capabilities of local forces as well as coordinating units in emergency situations related to Inland Water Ports. Thereby, helping to improve the ability to respond quickly, fire fighting and rescue skills of functional forces, ensuring safety for maritime and commercial activities in Rach Gia City.
