The Ministry of Agriculture and Environment received a petition from voters of Hanoi City with the content: "Voters request the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment to speed up the implementation of the project to renovate and expand the left Red dike section through Yen Lang commune (old Me Linh district), serving the travel needs of the people, helping to connect traffic infrastructure conveniently for local socio-economic development".
Regarding this proposal, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment reported to the National Assembly Delegation and voters of Hanoi City as follows: The Red River Deer section through Yen Lang Commune (old Me Linh District) has been included in the investment portfolio of the Project on Supplementing Flood risks to adapt to Climate Change (ADB10) to renovate, upgrade, ensure flood safety, combine transportation to serve the travel needs of the people, contributing to the socio-economic development of the locality. Currently, the Ministry is organizing the appraisal of the project Feasibility Study Report for approval and implementation according to regulations.
This is a large-scale project, including many works located in 6 provinces and cities in the Red River, Thai Binh River and Ma River systems. Immediately after the Prime Minister approved the project investment policy in Decision No. 223/QD-TTg dated March 7, 2024, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment directed the Investor to urgently organize the preparation of the Feasibility Study Report and is currently submitting it for appraisal and approval. In the coming time, the Ministry will continue to direct the Investor and relevant agencies and units to speed up the project implementation progress to soon renovate and upgrade the dykes, including the section of the Red Sea dykes through Yen Lang commune as proposed by voters.
