On December 7, Mr. Tran Xuan Duc - Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Hong Linh Ward - said that he had received a report from Lao Dong Newspaper about many trucks carrying sand that were too big to form boxes from sand gathering areas in the ward, then causing a stir on National Highway 1, affecting the environment and potentially causing traffic insecurity.
"The ward will send a document to the Traffic Police Department to request increased patrols, control, and handling of the situation of trucks carrying sand that are too many to form sand bins to scatter sand on the road," said Mr. Duc.
According to Mr. Duc, not only do many trucks carrying sand that are too full cause a longload on the road when moving, but at locations in urban areas when the vehicles stop waiting for red lights, sand and water from wet sand also scattered a lot on the road, affecting the environment.

A leader of the Traffic Police Department of Ha Tinh Provincial Police also informed that the Department will direct the Traffic Police Team to increase patrols, control, and handle the situation of overloaded and overloaded trucks in containers to ensure strict compliance with traffic safety regulations.
Currently, the Traffic Police Department recommends that drivers when transporting construction materials must cover with tarpaulins and tie them carefully before leaving the wharf, do not transport them beyond the height of the container, exceed the allowable load, comply with speed, keep a safe distance, when detecting scattered materials, they must collect and report to the authorities.
Previously, on December 5, Lao Dong Newspaper published an article "A fleet of trucks carrying over the boxes and sand scattered on National Highway 1" reflecting that recently every day, hundreds of trucks have come to the sand gathering areas along the Lam River (formerly in Xuan Lam Commune, now in Bac Hong Linh Ward) to transport sand, then spread it in different directions to bring sand to construction sites.
It is worth mentioning that trucks entering the sand gathering areas are covered with sand that is too thick in the bins, so when moving the sand, it spreads for a whole kilometre on National Highway 1, causing the weather to be dusty, the rain to slide, and potential traffic safety problems.
The incident affected people living near the sand gathering areas. They hope that the authorities will inspect and rectify the situation of trucks carrying sand and scattered on the road.
