According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment's information, the above documents were signed within the official visit of the General Secretary, Chinese President Xi Jinping to Vietnam, from 14 to 15.4.
The signing decrees include: Protocol on plant quarantine requirements for chili exports from Vietnam to China; The Protocol on plant quarantine requirements for passion fruit exported from Vietnam to China; The Protocol on safety requirements and dynamic quarantine and plants for rice bran and rice bran extract as feed for animal feed exported from Vietnam to China; The Protocol on the requirements of quarantine, inspection and veterinary hygiene for raw bird's nest products and clean bird's nest exported from Vietnam to China.
In addition, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment of Vietnam signed a memorandum of understanding of environmental protection cooperation with the Government of the Ethnic Autonomous Region of Guangxi, China. The Department of Sea and Islands shall assume the prime responsibility for the cooperation and cooperation agreement on general environmental management of Gulf of Tonkin. The Vietnam Department of Geology signed a memorandum of cooperation with the China Geological Department of Science.
China is the largest import market in Vietnam and Vietnam is China's largest trading partner in ASEAN. Last year, Chinese consumers spent US $ 4.6 billion to buy Vietnamese vegetables. In 11 months alone, the durian topped with more than 2.84 billion USD, dragon fruit of about 320 million USD, bananas 220 million USD, jackfruit 240 million USD.
Currently, 14 Vietnamese agricultural products have been exported to the billion -dollar market, bringing billions of dollars in revenue each year. In particular, 6 items on both sides signed a Decree for export (watermelon, mangosteen, black jelly, durian, fresh bananas and sweet potatoes) and 6 traditional items that have not been standardized by the Protocol of export (dragon fruit, rambutan, mango, cloth, longan, jackfruit). Particularly, passion fruit and chili are being piloted.
Up to the present time, the two sides have signed 24 memorandum and decrees on export and import of agricultural and fishery products. Particularly in 2024 signed 4 protocols including: Protocol on export of frozen durian, export crocodile export, monkey export (on the visit to China, from 18-20.8.2024 of the General Secretary, President To Lam) and the Protocol of fresh coconut export (signed on 6.6.2024 on a working trip with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of the General Department of China's General Department of Customs).
The Ministry of Agriculture and Environment of Vietnam cooperates with China in the fields of hydro -meteorological, water resources, geology, minerals, sea and islands, environment, climate change, map and remote sensing measurement.
Recently, from March 22, March 25, 2025, the Minister of Irrigation China led the mission to visit Vietnam and work with Minister Do Duc Duy. At the meeting, the two leaders agreed to coordinate closely to perform well the management and regulation of the Mekong - Lan Thuong River.
