Lam Dong - The Provincial People's Committee has just requested functional agencies to advise and propose issuing an emergency order to build anti-landslide works on Provincial Road 721.

On October 1, information from the Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee said that the unit requested the provincial functional sector to advise and propose issuing an emergency order to build anti-landslide works on Provincial Road 721.

This is the only route connecting 3 southern districts of Lam Dong province. At the same time, this route also connects Lam Dong province with Binh Phuoc province.

Provincial Road 721 suffered a serious landslide on September 25, 2024 due to heavy rain and floods. As a result, the culvert surface at Km29+850 in Da Lay commune, Da Teh district on Provincial Road 721 was deeply eroded, and the flood water could not drain through the culvert in time.

Since then, the flood has created a frog jaw that has eaten into half of the road surface. After that, the Department of Transport of Lam Dong province had to ban cars from passing through this road for temporary repairs.

Previously, in 2023, the Department of Transport of Lam Dong province found that the arched culvert across the road at this location showed signs of serious damage, so it created and submitted to the Provincial People's Committee for approval a periodic repair plan for 2024.

In which, there is a project to rebuild the arch culvert with a 3x3m reinforced concrete box culvert with a total investment of 15 billion VND.

Up to now, the project design documents have been completed and the Department of Transport is reviewing them to submit to the Provincial People's Committee for approval.

Due to the urgency of the project, the Department of Transport has requested the Provincial People's Committee to consider the project of building a 3x3m box culvert to replace the collapsed arch culvert at Km 29+850 of Provincial Road 721. This is to restore normal traffic on the route as soon as possible.
