On December 7, the Vietnam - Cuba Dong Hoi Friendship Hospital (Quang Binh province) announced that it had just provided emergency care to four teenagers who had an accident caused by a homemade firecracker explosion.
At around 5:00 p.m. on December 6, four teenagers, including P.L.N, N.G.H, N.G.B, and P.V.T (all 13-14 years old, residing in Truong Son commune, Quang Ninh district) were taken to the Vietnam - Cuba Friendship Hospital in Dong Hoi for emergency treatment.
When admitted to the hospital, all four people had severe burns, swelling of the entire face, forearms, hands, and legs on both sides with burns covering about 10-20% of the body.
Relatives of the four students said that the group of students had been making firecrackers following instructions on YouTube. During the process, they exploded, and three of the four were in serious condition. Doctors performed emergency surgery and stitched up the wounds in the severe cases.
The teenagers are still being monitored at the hospital.
