On the afternoon of November 4, rescue forces, police and local militia were still searching for Mr. T.V.H. (58 years old, residing in Bich Hao commune, Nghe An province) - a missing person on the Lam River.
According to initial information, at around 10:00 a.m. the same day, Mr. H. and his wife, Ms. N.T.L. (53 years old) rowing a boat to fish on the Lam River, the section bordering Bich Hao Commune and Van An Commune. While casting the net, the boat suddenly overturned, causing both of them to fall into the water.
Mrs. L. was lucky to be discovered by nearby people and promptly rescued to shore in a state of panic, while Mr. H. was swept away by the water.
Mr. Nguyen Khanh Thanh - Chairman of Bich Hao Commune People's Committee - said that immediately after the incident, the authorities and the people mobilized many boats to search for the victims. "The search encountered many difficulties due to the rising water of Lam River, the strong current and the wide riverbed. The authorities are continuing to review the area where the accident occurred and the downstream area, said Mr. Thanh.
