The forest worship ceremony of the H'Mong Na Hau people is officially an intangible cultural heritage

Yen Bai - The Ceremony to announce the Decision and grant the National Intangible Cultural Heritage Certificate "Forest Worship Ceremony" is an important event for the H'Mong people in Na Hau.

Na Hau commune, Van Yen district, Yen Bai province is located in the core area of Na Hau Nature Reserve, with a natural area of over 5,640 hectares, of which over 4,500 hectares are special-use natural forests. The whole commune has more than 500 households with over 2,500 people. Although the people's lives are still difficult, they always agree to preserve and protect the forest according to the laws passed down from generation to generation.

For the H'Mong Na Hau people, forests are a source of life, a shelter and a spiritual support for the whole community; the people set up regulations and regulations on forest protection and forest protection and have been passed down by the community from generation to generation.

Every year, on the last day of the first lunar month, villages and hamlets in Na Hau commune, Van Yen district gather in the forbidden forest and sacred forest of the village to celebrate the forest Tet. Although life is getting more and more modern and has changed, the H'Mong Na Hau people still maintain this fine custom.

At the Ceremony to announce the Decision and award the Certificate of National Intangible Cultural Heritage "Forest Worship Ceremony" of the H'Mong people, Na Hau commune and Forest Tet held on the evening of February 26, Chairman of Van Yen District People's Committee Hoang Viet Hoa emphasized that this is not only a great honor for the H'Mong community but also a great responsibility for the Party Committee, government and people of Van Yen district in preserving and promoting the value of this precious heritage.

The District Party Committee, People's Council, and People's Committee of Van Yen District are committed to preserving the traditional values of the Forest worship ceremony; strengthening research programs, collecting, and documenting the Forest worship ceremony to fully preserve the rituals, sayings, offerings, and sacred space of the ceremony; supporting artisans, village elders, and village chiefs in teaching cultural values, languages, and customs associated with the ceremony to the younger generation.

The district focuses on educating the younger generation, including organizing extracurricular programs and propagating in schools about the meaning and value of the Forest Worship Ceremony. The district integrates heritage conservation with the development of eco-tourism and community tourism; strengthens forest management and protection, strictly handles acts of encroachment and illegal exploitation of forests that affect the local ecological environment; combines forest conservation with the development of medicinal plants under the forest canopy, contributing to increasing people's income, creating motivation for the community to join hands to protect natural and cultural heritage.

After the Certificate Award Ceremony, delegates, people and visitors enjoyed the art program with the theme "The resounding forest Tet - Na Hau burning morning" and the fireworks display with the theme " brilliant fireworks - In the midst of a thousand Na Hau".

The forest worship ceremony will start at 8:00 a.m. on February 27 at 3 traditional forest worship sites of Na Hau commune (Trung Tam village, Ban Tat village, Ba Khuy village).

After that, people and tourists will participate in competitions and performances of folk games; H'Mong market with sightseeing and tourism activities...
