Many difficulties and challenges
According to the People's Committee of Lien Son Lak commune, the locality currently has 767 hectares of perennial industrial crops, including 446 hectares of coffee, 26 hectares of pepper, 149 hectares of cashew, 36 hectares of cocoa and 11 hectares of fruit trees of all kinds. In addition, the commune's herd of cattle and poultry also numbered thousands.
However, despite the large production area, productivity and output are still low due to limited application of scientific and technical advances in cultivation and animal husbandry.
The whole commune has 6,663 households with 26,663 people. Of which, there are 963 poor households and 367 near-poor households. Having been born and raised in the locality, Mr. Ha Van Hung - a specialist of the People's Committee of Lien Son Lak commune - clearly understands the cultural characteristics and life of the people here.

He shared: In reality, in ethnic minority villages and hamlets, in addition to the need for essential items, people really hope to receive livelihood support to escape poverty. With the virtue of diligence and hard work, the M'ong people can completely develop livestock and crop. If they have access to vocational training classes, technical training and support for breeding animals, seedlings, and fertilizers, they can develop their family economy on their own.
Village elder Y San Luc (a prestigious person of Buon Yok Duon) said that in recent years, many households in the village have received support from the Party, the State and local authorities. Thanks to that, in the past 5 years, the number of poor and near-poor households has decreased significantly. This achievement comes from the participation of programs, policies and the efforts of the people to rise up.
"However, to help the villagers escape the special difficulties, the villagers still hope to continue to receive livelihood support such as buffaloes, cows, seedlings, or preferential loans to develop the family economy" - the village elder Y San Luc shared more.

Continuing to support livelihoods for people
In November 2025, the National Assembly Office issued the conclusion of the National Assembly Standing Committee on the Summary Report of 5 years of implementing the National Target Program for Socio-Economic Development in Ethnic Minority and Mountainous Areas for the period 2021-2030.
Accordingly, the National Assembly Standing Committee agreed on the policy of allowing the transfer of capital for the period 2021-2025 that has not been fully disbursed to 2026 for continued implementation.
For Dak Lak province in general and Lien Son Lak commune in particular, this is a very encouraging sign. Local governments will have more time and resources to focus on implementing key tasks to sustainably reduce poverty and support people's livelihoods.

Mr. Nguyen Anh Tu - Chairman of Lien Son Lak Commune People's Committee said: "In the coming time, the commune government will continue to closely follow the grassroots, grasping the actual needs of each hamlet. To ensure the right beneficiaries, the commune has reviewed and assessed the level of difficulties of each household, combined with opinions from village heads, village elders and organizations. This approach is both transparent and creates consensus in the community.
According to Mr. Tu, the specialized departments will focus on implementing practical policies that are suitable for local conditions such as supporting plant and animal varieties, training on production techniques, supporting domestic water tanks, and at the same time creating conditions for people to access preferential loans to develop household economy. Thereby, creating all conditions for people to get rich in their own homeland.
