Recently, there have been a series of traffic accidents involving foreigners driving motorbikes in Phan Thiet city, Binh Thuan province.
Recently, on the afternoon of November 26, a foreigner was driving a motorbike from Mui Ne to the center of Phan Thiet city. When he reached the curve of Nguyen Thong street along Ong Dia beach, he and his motorbike plunged straight into the roadside drainage ditch. This person was injured and was taken to the hospital for emergency treatment.
Near this location, on November 23, a very serious accident occurred between 2 motorbikes with a total of 3 foreigners. According to the camera recording, 2 motorbikes collided head-on, causing 3 people on the 2 motorbikes to be thrown onto the road, of which 2 died and 1 was injured.
In the early morning of October 26, on Nguyen Dinh Chieu Street, Ham Tien Ward, Phan Thiet City, a motorbike driven by a foreigner collided with a motorbike carrying a couple. All three people were taken to the emergency room, but one person died.
Mr. Mikhail - a Russian who has lived in Vietnam for 5 years and works in tourism in Mui Ne - acknowledged that some foreigners after drinking at bars in the evening drive their motorbikes very fast. This is very dangerous for their lives.
In the face of many consecutive accidents on the Ham Tien - Mui Ne tourist route, the Traffic Safety Committee of Binh Thuan province will re-survey the entire route and come up with solutions; the authorities need to work with motorbike rental services for foreigners, tightening regulations on documents.
