Quang Tri - Forecast of complicated heavy rain, Border Guards have supported ethnic minority households to harvest rice to avoid damage.

On November 1 and 2, the southern border area of Quang Tri province still had heavy rain, but officers and soldiers of Thanh Border Guard Station (Quang Tri Border Guard) still deployed to support people in lia commune (Quang Tri province) to harvest rice.

From early morning, officers and soldiers were present in A Quan and A Rong villages using seaweed to harvest and then using machines to thresh rice, helping people transport it home.

Mr. Ho Ta Lu (born in 1983, residing in A Rong village, lia commune) said that his family's rice fields were just ripe when they encountered continuous rain, which could easily cause flooding and damage. In the past 2 days, thanks to the support of the Border Guard, the rice fields have been harvested and brought home for drying.

"With the support and guidance of Border Guard officers and soldiers, we have brought rice home very conveniently" - Mr. Ho Ta Lu shared.

Major Nguyen Van Chinh - Political Commissar of Thanh Border Guard Station - said that despite heavy rain, the unit has made efforts to support people in harvesting nearly 2 hectares of rice. In addition, local working groups also help people reinforce their houses, tie up schools, headquarters, public works and be on duty at traffic points at high risk of flooding.
