As of April 10, the road connecting Tran Quoc Hoan - Cong Hoa has gradually taken shape, especially the section from Phan Thuc Duyen intersection to Hoang Hoa Tham street (Tan Binh district) curving close to Tan Son Nhat airport area.
This is considered a "backbone" route connecting directly to Terminal T3 that is preparing to be put into operation.
The project has a total investment of more than VND 4,800 billion, about 4 km long, 28 - 48 m wide with 6 lanes, including overpasses, underpasses and branch roads. The starting point of the route is at the Tran Quoc Hoan - Phan Thuc Duyen intersection, ending at the intersection of C12 - Cong Hoa - Truong Chinh road.

In phase 1, the 1.25 km long road from Phan Thuc Duyen Street to Hoang Hoa Tham has been completed and opened to traffic.
The remaining part from Hoang Hoa Tham Street to the end of the route is being urgently constructed, expected to open to traffic before April 30 to synchronize with the opening time of Terminal T3.
The route is designed with a main axis 4 km long from Phan Thuc Duyen Street to C12 (the area intersecting with Truong Chinh Street), a branch connecting to Hoang Hoa Tham Street and Road 18E connecting to Cong Hoa.
In particular, the overpass in front of terminal T3 with its own branch leading straight to the terminal contributes to separating the flow of vehicles, reducing underground traffic pressure.

In parallel with the main road, Hoang Hoa Tham route has also been expanded to nearly 800 m with a cost of nearly 300 billion VND.
This route connects from Cong Hoa Street to the gate of the military tent (adjacent to the airport), the road surface is widened to 22 m with 4 lanes. Phase 1 has been completed and the entire route will be put into operation before April 30, 2025.

At the end of 2024, the Tan Ky - Tan Quy route (Binh Tan district) has completed the expansion of a 2 km long section from Binh Long to Ma Lo road, with a road surface of up to 30 m. The total investment capital is more than 1,200 billion VND, of which the cost of site clearance accounts for 995 billion VND.
In early 2025, the Tan Ky - Tan Quy bridge will also officially open to traffic after 8 years of construction. The completion of the bridge and route will help clear the Southwest gateway, directly connecting National Highway 1 to Tan Son Nhat airport.

Terminal T3 will start operation on the occasion of April 30 with domestic flights of Vietnam Airlines and Vietjet Air. After the peak of the holiday, the remaining airlines such as Bamboo Airways, Vasco, Vietravel Airlines and Pacific Airlines will still operate at the existing T1 terminal.

Depending on the departure area, passengers can choose the following convenient routes:
