On the morning of February 21, information from the Traffic Police Department (CSGT) - Hanoi City Police said that, implementing the peak plan of the Traffic Police Department (Ministry of Public Security) and the direction of Hanoi City Police, on February 20, working groups under the Hanoi Traffic Police Department simultaneously deployed alcohol concentration control throughout the City. Through inspection, many violations were detected.
Accordingly, functional forces controlled more than 11,000 vehicles, detected and handled 205 cases of alcohol concentration violations. Notably, both taxi and passenger car drivers were found to be in violation.
As in the case discovered at 10:49 am on February 20, the task force of Road Traffic Police Team No. 6 on duty at No. 42 Pham Van Dong street conducted an alcohol concentration control for driver N.D. V (born 2000, residing in Hanoi) driving a taxi with license plate 29H-943xx. The measurement results showed that the driver violated at 0.037 mg/L of breath.

Also at the same location, at 10:57 am on the same day, the working group continued to discover driver D.D. L. T (born 1976, residing in Hanoi) driving taxi BKS 29H-979xx violating the alcohol concentration at 0.234 mg/L of breath. Working with functional forces, the drivers all admitted to the violation.
In the afternoon of the same day, on Doan Ke Thien street, functional forces controlled the alcohol concentration of driver M.T. C (born in 1983, residing in Hanoi) driving a 16-seater contract car with license plate 29E-055xx. The measurement results showed that the driver violated at 0.081 mg/L of breath.
All violations are recorded by traffic police for administrative violations, temporarily seizing vehicles and related documents for handling according to the provisions of law.


Also on February 20, 2026, the traffic police force controlled 893 transport business vehicles, handled 80 violations (30 fixed-route vehicles; 47 contract vehicles; 3 vehicle owners), fined an estimated 78.4 million VND; deducted points from driver's licenses in 7 cases; temporarily seized 3 vehicles.
According to the Hanoi Traffic Police Department, in the last days of the Tet holiday, the unit will continue to strengthen patrols and inspections, focusing on handling acts that cause congestion and traffic accidents such as alcohol concentration violations, stopping, parking, picking up and dropping off passengers not in accordance with regulations; especially tightening control of passenger transport activities, contributing to ensuring that people enjoy Spring and celebrate Tet fully and safely.
