On January 5, the reporter's observations showed that Vuon Cam Street or the sidewalks of Pac Bo Square, Cao Bang Provincial Conference Center... are all being repaired and upgraded.
The contractor is dismantling the entire old sidewalk area (concrete base, self-locking block, terrazzo) to replace with new stone-like concrete bricks; dismantling the entire existing curb and tree-bed bundles to replace with stone-like concrete bricks; replacing manhole covers; replacing some damaged manhole water collection bars; dredging and repairing sewers and drainage ditches.
According to the reporter's investigation, the project is invested by the People's Committee of Cao Bang city with the goal of ensuring infrastructure connection to the administrative center of Cao Bang province - where political, cultural and social events of the province are held such as rallies, parades, and celebrations of major holidays of the province and the country. At the same time, this is also a tourist attraction for people and tourists when coming to Cao Bang city.
This project also creates a community living space combined with a green park system, contributing to creating a highlight in landscape architecture for the central area of Cao Bang city, aiming to develop the city into a type II urban area, worthy of being the tourist center of the province.
The project also contributes to the sustainable maintenance of civilized urban streets, improving technical infrastructure, making the urban appearance more and more spacious. This will promote economic, commercial, service and tourism development, serving people's lives, while creating an ideal living environment, ensuring social security.
In Document No. 2105/TTr-UBND sent to the Provincial People's Council (August 14, 2024), the People's Committee of Cao Bang province identified this project as being on the list of works serving the 20th Congress of Cao Bang Provincial Party Committee, term 2025 - 2030 and the 525th anniversary of the founding of Cao Bang province.
The renovation of the sidewalk starts from the circle of Km5 to Na Cap bridge with a length of about 3,950 m, going through three wards: Ngoc Xuan, Song Hien and De Tham.
Talking to reporters, Mr. Hoang Van Hoa, a resident of Cao Bang city, shared: "Many sidewalks are damaged. I hope this repair will be completed quickly and will be more durable and beautiful."
