After 10:00 p.m. on November 16, a tornado swept through Chien Dan commune, Da Nang city, causing a lot of damage to houses and property.
Strong winds have caused many corrugated iron roofs to be blown off, trees to be uprooted, and some auxiliary works and barns to be damaged. There are currently no records of the number of injured or dead.

Mr. Tran Van L, a resident of Chien Dan commune, said the incident happened very quickly: "The wind suddenly rose, and I heard a very strong whistle. The corrugated iron roof behind my house was knocked down as if it had absorbed. After only a few dozen seconds, my whole family had to run into the corner of the shelter wall because we were afraid the roof would collapse.
Some households said they had local power outages immediately after the strong winds reached. Some telecommunication lines were stretched, trees fell to block the road, making it difficult to move at night.
According to initial records, at least 5-7 houses had their roofs partially or completely blown off; trees were knocked down and lying everywhere, many inter-village roads were littered with pieces of corrugated iron and construction materials; some barns and ancillary works were damaged.
Local authorities are urgently checking, counting damage, verifying the situation of people, prioritizing rescue work if there are people in need of help.
