On the morning of June 13, Mr. Le Ba Hung, Chairman of the People's Committee of Lao Bao town (Huong Hoa district, Quang Tri province) said that from about 2:00 a.m. the same day, the water from the Se Pon river flooded into the residential area, causing flooding in Duy Tan hamlet, Cao Viet hamlet, and Vinh Dong hamlet.

From 3:30 a.m. the same day, the locality coordinated with the military forces, Lao Bao Town Police, and Lao Bao International Border Guard Station to evacuate people.

"143 households/465 people have been evacuated to safety. Of which, 16 households were flooded, the deepest was more than 1 meter" - Mr. Le Ba Hung said.
During the night, the Lao Bao Town Police mobilized forces to support the locality in evacuating people.

"Some places were flooded halfway through their homes, when officers and soldiers wade in to evacuate their belongings, the water was up to their chests. Not only supporting the evacuation of people, we also mobilized vehicles to bring people's assets to safety" - Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Quang Trung, Head of Lao Bao Town Police, said.
Currently, the water level on the Se Pon River is continuing to rise, and local authorities are monitoring to be ready to evacuate people to safety.

The impact of storm No. 1 has caused very heavy rain in Quang Tri since June 11, causing flooding in many localities in the plains and many places in the mountainous districts of Huong Hoa and Dakrong.
