On the afternoon of July 22, speaking with a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Mac Van Nguyen - Secretary of the Party Committee of Nhon Mai Commune - said that at around 11:30 a.m. on July 22, a flash flood occurred in Nhon Mai Village, Nhon Mai Commune on Hy Stream. The flood suddenly came, causing serious landslides on both sides of the stream in the residential area.
Accordingly, 3 houses were swept away (2 houses in Nhon Mai village, 1 house in Huoi Xa village), in addition, there are currently about 20 houses in many villages at high risk of landslides.
The old headquarters of the People's Committee of the commune was flooded nearly 1m deep, many equipment and documents were forced to be urgently evacuated.

The Nhon Mai Border Guard Station quickly coordinated with the authorities and people to organize the relocation of assets, supporting the evacuation of people to safety.
According to Mr. Nguyen, the locality has organized the evacuation of about 100 households to safe places.
"The water is flowing rapidly and there are still no signs of receding. The commune has been isolated due to floods and rain, causing traffic disruption," Mr. Nguyen shared.
According to Mr. Nguyen, up to now, there have been no recorded human losses. However, people's property was damaged as mentioned above.

Not only in Nhon Mai, many other border communes such as Tam Thai, Na Ngoi, Tri Le, Muong Xen have heavy rain, rising river water, and there is a great risk of landslides.
Localities have warned people to proactively evacuate to ensure the safety of people and relocate assets when necessary.
