The Nam La Stream Embankment Project, Phase II (from Tuoi Tre Lake to Tong Panh Bridge, the old Son La City) - was approved under Decision No. 1540/QD-UBND dated August 1, 2024 of the People's Committee of Son La Province. The project has a total investment of more than 267 billion VND, the Investor is the Management Board of the Investment Project for Construction of Agricultural Works and Rural Development of Son La Province.
Since August 2025, the investor has announced a bidding for Package No. 27: Construction and installation of the project, but to date, a contractor has not been found. On July 6, 2025, the investor continued to announce bidding for the above construction package.
Package No. 27 was widely bid online, priced at more than VND95 billion from the provincial budget land use fee revenue; the package implementation period is 480 days.
Speaking to Lao Dong Newspaper reporters at noon on December 8, a leader of the Management Board of Investment Projects for Construction of Agricultural Works and Rural Development of Son La province - said that because the participating contractors did not meet the requirements in the bidding documents, the unit had to cancel the bid to organize the selection of new contractors.
"As a flood project, the construction conditions are difficult, along with the site clearance work also facing difficulties, so there are some conditions and requirements in the bidding documents but the contractors have not met them" - the investor's representative shared.
The Nam La stream embankment project, phase II, includes 3 sections, from bridge 308 - Day Vang bridge; Coong Noi bridge - Duong Aoi Institute; Tuoi Tre lake - Tong Panh bridge.
The project is invested to ensure flood drainage, create a landscape of the central urban environment of Son La province, as well as contribute to the development of urban areas on both sides of Nam La stream.
