On the afternoon of November 29, news from the Khanh Hoa Hydrometeorological Station said that convective clouds are developing strongly in many communes in coastal and inland areas, warning of the risk of heavy rain, lightning, tornadoes and strong gusts of wind in the coming hours.
The regions that are recording strong development of convective clouds include: Phuoc Dinh, Ca Na, Phuoc Ha, Thuan Nam, Ninh Phuoc communes and coastal areas.
It is forecasted that in the next 6 hours, thunderstorms will continue to develop, causing rain in the above areas and may expand to the communes: Ninh Son, Lam Son, Anh Dung, My Son, Bac Ai Dong, Bac Ai, Vinh Hai and Dai Lanh.
The meteorological agency warns that during thunderstorms, it is necessary to be especially on guard against lightning, tornadoes, and strong gusts of wind.
Heavy rain in a short period of time can cause water to flow rapidly through spillways, causing localized flooding in low-lying areas, people need to proactively prevent and ensure safety.
According to the bulletin at 10:00 on November 29, storm No. 15 is active in the northwest sea area of the central East Sea. The strongest wind near the storm center is level 9-10 (75 - 102 km/h), gusting to level 13. The storm is moving north at a speed of about 5 km/h.
As of 10:00 on November 30, the storm is forecast to continue north and be located in the northwest sea area of the central East Sea, about 340 km from the east coast of Gia Lai - Dak Lak province.
The storm will then turn northwest and move slowly. By December 1, the center of the storm was about 310 km from the East coast of Gia Lai - Dak Lak.
By December 2, the storm will continue to change direction to the Southwest at a speed of 3 - 5 km/h and will be about 250 km from the East coast of Gia Lai - Dak Lak. From the next 72 to 120 hours, the storm will move in the West Southwest direction, at a speed of 5 - 10 km/h and will continue to weaken.
Due to the influence of storm No. 15, the northwestern sea area of the central East Sea will have strong winds of level 7; the area near the storm's eye will have strong winds of level 8 - 10, gusting to level 12 - 13. Waves are 3 - 5m high, especially in the area near the storm's eye, it can reach 6 - 8m, the sea is very rough.
Ships operating in the danger zone may be affected simultaneously by thunderstorms, strong winds and large waves.
The meteorological agency recommends that fishermen and captains of vessels should closely monitor forecast information and proactively take shelter safely.
