Evacuating 350 households/1,347 people to cope with landslides
On November 16 and 17, before a series of new cracks continued to appear on the hillsides, directly threatening residential areas, the authorities of Hung Son commune (Da Nang city) evacuated nearly 180 households to safe places, bringing the total number of people evacuated to 1,347 people.

Mr. Zoram Buon, Chairman of Hung Son Commune People's Committee, said that local forces had mobilized border guards, police, and militia to support people to move that night.
"The prolonged heavy rain caused many landslides to continuously expand, forcing us to urgently evacuate all households in the danger zone" - Mr. Buon said.
Specifically, the commune has brought 28 households/104 people of Glao village to the village goose house; 98 households/359 people of ating village to arooi village; 51 households/214 people of Dading village to Gary Primary School and the headquarters of Gary Commune People's Committee (old).
In addition, 2 households/5 people in Achoong were evacuated from the landslide area with a direct threat.
Previously, the Da Nang City Military Command and the locality organized the evacuation of 56 households/197 people in Dading village, 171 households/665 people in H'juh and G'lao villages.
Ch'Noc village - an area bordering Laos with 121 households/519 people, is still completely cut off.
Many old landslides have not been repaired, heavy rain continues to create new cracks, rocks and soil overflow onto the road, causing the village entrance to be blocked.
The commune forces and people are carrying necessities inside to ensure the daily life of the people.
"The road is torn, and motorbikes cannot enter. We have to walk, use chopsticks to carry rice and clean water to the people" - a Hung Son commune official said.
In Tra Doc commune, in the afternoon and evening of November 17, militia and village security continued to evacuate dozens of households in villages 23 in areas at risk of landslides and flash floods to safe shelters.

Floods paralyze many key traffic routes
According to Mr. Luong Thach Vy - Deputy Director of the Department of Construction of Da Nang, the flood from November 15 to 17 caused serious landslides, blocking many national and provincial highways.
National Highway 40B has just opened 1 lane on the evening of November 16, and at noon on November 17, it continued to collapse, causing congestion; National Highway 14E was cut off through Phuoc Hiep commune; National Highway 14H was flooded more than 1m deep at Khe Rinh bridge; National Highway 14D: landslides on the positive slope at 5 locations, 3 locations were completely blocked.

On provincial routes 609, 609B, 609C (Dai Loc commune), the floodwaters of Vu Gia - Thu Bon river rose, causing many sections to be cut off, the strong flow forced the authorities to set up barriers and checkpoints to ensure safety.
On DT606, connecting from A Vuong commune to Tay Giang sub-hamlet gate, heavy rain recreated a series of landslides on the positive and negative slopes. 6 locations were congested. At Km25+600 (Tay Giang commune), the roadbed was severely carved with frog jaw, just enough for motorbikes to pass.
Phuoc Manh Company has deployed a large-capacity excavator to widen the roadbed; by the afternoon of November 17, cars began circulating again.

"The most difficult thing is that the rain has not stopped, rocks and soil continue to flow down, the risk of new landslides is very high. We have to be on duty 24/7 to ensure traffic according to the 4-on-site motto" - said the leader of the Da Nang Department of Construction.
