Early morning of September 19, 2024, the tropical depression strengthened into a storm, with maximum winds of 74km/h (level 8), expected to make landfall in Quang Binh and Quang Tri this afternoon. The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said that at 4:00 a.m., the storm center was 210km from Da Nang and about 260km from Quang Tri, causing strong winds of level 6, gusting to level 7 on Con Co Island of Quang Tri.
To proactively respond to the impacts of storm No. 4, MobiFone is ready to deploy storm prevention and control plans, focusing on preventing heavy rains causing flash floods and localized flooding in some areas. In particular, focusing on reviewing stations, machine rooms, and shops in low-lying areas that are often deeply flooded during heavy rains to proactively lift and place equipment, goods, and handling plans in case of flooding.
At the same time, check fuel and the operating capacity of the backup generator to ensure readiness for emergency response in case of grid power failure. Strengthen monitoring of the optical transmission network, organize and implement emergency response by MobiFone and infrastructure leasing partners.
Previously, to respond to storm Yagi (storm No. 3), before the storm made landfall in the northern provinces, MobiFone had synchronously deployed many storm prevention and control measures such as checking and reinforcing vulnerable locations, checking station infrastructure, refueling generators, and organizing 24/7 network monitoring in provinces identified to be hit by the storm.
In particular, after the storm passed, the corporation promptly implemented many remedial measures, mobilizing technical teams to hot spots to promptly respond to information. Up to now, MobiFone has basically restored the entire network in the provinces and cities affected by storms and floods, ensuring smooth communication for the people.
With careful and serious preparation and experience from the recent storm No. 3, MobiFone has mobilized all resources to prepare response scenarios to minimize the impact of storm No. 4, ensure safety and maintain communication for people.
