Recently, the Standing Committee of Son La Provincial Party Committee held a conference to announce decisions on the establishment of the Party Committee and the conversion of titles of the Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee (VFF) of Moc Chau town.
According to the decision of the Son La Provincial Party Committee, Moc Chau Town Party Committee was established on the basis of all 63 Party cells, grassroots Party Committees and 7,830 Party members from Moc Chau District Party Committee.
At the same time, the conference also announced the decision to change the positions of the Party Committee and the Inspection Committee of Moc Chau City Party Committee.
The Standing Committee of the People's Council of Son La province issued a resolution approving the positions of Chairman and Vice Chairman of the People's Council of Moc Chau district to Chairman and Vice Chairman of the People's Council of Moc Chau town. The People's Committee of Son La province also announced the decision to change the positions of Chairman and Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Moc Chau town.
In addition, the conference announced the decision to establish the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Moc Chau town and convert positions for the 2024-2029 term; establish and appoint to convert Party Committees of communes and wards in Moc Chau town.
Speaking at the conference, Mr. Hoang Quoc Khanh, Secretary of Son La Provincial Party Committee, requested the town Party Committee to focus on synchronously implementing Party building work, exceeding the 2025 goals and the Resolution of the Party Congress for the 2020-2025 term, and at the same time prepare well for Party Congresses at all levels, towards the 14th National Congress of the Party.
At the same time, Son La Provincial Police held a ceremony to announce the decision of the Minister of Public Security on the establishment of Moc Chau Town Police on the basis of Moc Chau District Police.
Accordingly, from February 1, 2025, Moc Chau Town Police will officially come into operation with professional teams including the Staff Team, Security Team, Administrative Police Team for Social Order, Traffic Police - Order, Criminal Enforcement and Judicial Support Police Team, and Criminal Technique Team.
Along with that, Moc Chau Town Police and Moc Chau Farm Town Police were dissolved, replaced by the Police of Moc Ly, Moc Son, Binh Minh, Thao Nguyen, Co Do, Van Son, Dong Sang, Muong Sang wards and the Police of Chieng Chung, Tan Yen, and Doan Ket communes.
