On March 22, according to the report of Yen Son District Party Committee, by the morning of the same day, the fire at Nghiem Mountain had been uncontrolled. The area of fire damaged about 20 hectares of natural forest.
While participating in extinguishing the fire, Mr. D.D.C (born in 1983, residing in Nui Cay village, Hoang Khai commune) died. The authorities have visited and supported the families of the victims.
Previously, at noon on March 21, a fierce fire broke out in the Nghiem mountain area. More than 1,200 people and vehicles were mobilized to participate in extinguishing the fire. About 1,000 meters of runway were opened to prevent the fire from spreading.
Due to the forest area being bamboo, thorn forest, thick vegetation and dry weather, the fire spread, making it difficult for rescue forces to participate.
The cause of the incident is being investigated and clarified by the authorities.
