On December 9, at the 31st session of the 17th Lang Son Provincial People's Council, term 2021-2026, the leaders of the Lang Son Provincial People's Committee approved the results of socio-economic development in 2024.
According to Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ho Tien Thieu, Lang Son province's economy will develop comprehensively in 2024, with an estimated growth rate of gross regional domestic product (GRDP) of 6.01%.
Of which, agriculture and forestry increased by 2.78%, industry and construction increased by 7.8%, services increased by 6.2%, product tax minus product subsidy increased by 9.17%.
Regarding economic structure, agriculture, forestry and fishery account for 21.51%; industry - construction 23.71%; services 50.31%, product tax minus product subsidy 4.47%. Average GRDP per capita is estimated at 61.1 million VND.
Total state budget revenue in the area is estimated at 9,805.5 billion VND, reaching 131% of the estimate, up 25.8% over the same period.
In addition to the achieved results, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ho Tien Thieu also said that the complicated weather situation, storms, floods, inundation, especially storm No. 3 (Yagi) caused damage to people and property, especially agricultural and forestry production, the implementation of financial support to overcome the consequences of storm No. 3 was still slow, not creating timely encouragement for the affected people.
The implementation of investment projects in the province still has some problems regarding land procedures, construction, environment, and fire prevention and fighting that have not been resolved promptly.
In particular, the progress of site clearance for some key projects still faces some difficulties and obstacles, some investment projects using non-budgetary capital are behind schedule and do not meet requirements, and are still behind schedule.
