Floods cause landslides and damage in many areas in Lao Cai

Lao Cai - Heavy rain caused landslides with many damage in Ban Cai commune area (Bac Ha).

On the afternoon of April 13, information from the People's Committee of Ban Cai Commune, Bac Ha District, dawn on the same day, in the commune, there were thunderstorms causing floods.

Floods have made the road from Nam Ton Bridge to the center of the commune eroded and the rocks flooded down the road to divide the village.

The leader of Ban Cai Commune People's Committee said that heavy rains have damaged a number of items of Nam Khoi Hydroelectric Plant and made mud and soil from the landslide areas in the flood in 2024 flowing down to buried a section of provincial road 160 from Bac Ha to Bao Yen.

According to the leader of the Department of Construction: Through preliminary evaluation, the early morning of the 13th morning of the positive talk and negative taluys of nearly 10 positions from Km64+700, provincial road 160, with a total length of about 200 m, the weight of about 3,000 m3, causing complete traffic congestion.

Immediately after capturing the information, the Department of Construction mobilized 3 excavators and labor to overcome the landslide point.

By this afternoon, the functional forces have basically overcome the landslides to clear step 1 to serve people traveling.

Earlier, during the storm No. 3 in 2024, Nam Thoi Hydroelectric Plant had suffered heavy losses with 5 officials and employees killed and property damage was estimated at over VND 100 billion, forced to suspend long -term operations.
