In the past few days, in the two mountainous districts of Nam Tra My and Bac Tra My, Quang Nam province, there has been moderate rain, heavy rain, and in some places very heavy rain, with total rainfall in the past 24 hours ranging from 50mm to 146.8mm, and even more in some places.
Heavy rains have caused landslides, damage, and localized traffic jams on many inter-commune and inter-district routes, National Highway 40B, National Highway 24C, Ho Chi Minh Road through Quang Nam, and the newly built Rang Chuoi school in Nam Tra My has also collapsed. Bac Tra My district has urgently evacuated 138 households with 523 people in 8 communes and towns at high risk of landslides to safety.
On the morning of November 28, the Hydrometeorological Station of Quang Nam province issued a warning that in the next 6 hours, the two districts of Nam and Bac Tra My will continue to have moderate, heavy to very heavy rain; there is a risk of floods and flash floods in rivers and streams in mountainous areas, landslides on steep slopes, and land subsidence, especially in the two communes of Tra Don (Nam Tra My) and Tra Giap (Bac Tra My).
Faced with the above situation, the People's Committee of Quang Nam province has issued a telegram requesting proactive response, absolutely not being subjective and ready to deploy solutions to respond to floods.
