"Iron stuffed squid at Binh Dien market" is fake news, clickbait

HCMC - Regarding the information spreading about iron-stuffed squid at Binh Dien market, the leader of Ward 7 People's Committee (District 8) said that this is false information.

On January 21, social media spread information with the title "Binh Dien market shock, squid stuffed with iron", along with a clip of a person removing iron pieces from inside squid. This incident caused confusion for many consumers. According to the person who posted the information, the incident occurred at Binh Dien market (District 8, Ho Chi Minh City).

The clip, which is over 1 minute and 30 seconds long, records a group of people sitting and selecting squid inside the market. At this time, the person filming the clip records a person selecting squid pulling out large, round pieces of iron, nearly a span long, from inside the squid. According to the clip, the iron in the basket of this group of people nearby is believed to have been taken from the squid, with more than a dozen pieces.

A representative of Ward 7 People's Committee (District 8) said that after receiving the information, the police force and related units coordinated to verify.

Ward 7 People's Committee informed that the iron-stuffed squid incident at Binh Dien market did not happen, this information is not true, the post is for the purpose of attracting likes and views.

"Recently, functional units have regularly inspected food hygiene and safety issues at Binh Dien market. Especially at the end of the year, this work has been focused on and strengthened by functional forces," said a representative of the People's Committee of Ward 7, District 8.
