According to an update from Vietnam Electricity Group, as of 12:30 on December 21, 2025, Tuyen Quang Hydropower Reservoir recorded an upstream water level of 119.71m, only about 0.3m lower than the normal water level. The water flow to the lake reached 117m3/s, the total discharge was 113.09m3/s, mainly through the power plant, without overflow.
Thac Ba Lake has a water level of 57.74m, close to the normal water level of 58m, with a flow rate of 137m3/s and has not yet discharged water.
In the Northwest region, Lai Chau, Ban Chat and Huoi Quang lakes all maintain high water levels, only 0.20.5m lower than the normal water level. These reservoirs currently do not release water, prioritizing storage for operation and power generation in the coming time.
Son La Lake recorded a water level of 214.66m, nearly reaching the normal water level of 215m. The water flow to the lake reached 583m3/s, the total discharge was 162m3/s, completely through the plant.
Meanwhile, Hoa Binh Lake has a water level of 116.34m, a flow of 672m3/s and a total discharge of 665m3/s, also only discharged through power generation, not overflow.
National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, today, December 21, the Northern region will have rain in some places, fog and scattered light fog in the early morning, sunny in the afternoon.
The area from Quang Tri to Da Nang city, the east of the provinces from Quang Ngai to Dak Lak on the night of December 20 and December 21, is forecast to have rain, locally moderate rain, heavy rain and thunderstorms.
The Southern region will have showers and thunderstorms in some places in the evening and at night, sunny during the day.
