According to updates from Vietnam Electricity Group, as of 9:00 am on December 31, 2025, Hoa Binh reservoir recorded upstream water level at an altitude of 116.64m; water flow to the reservoir reached 104m3/s; total discharge through the plant is 553m3/s.
At Tuyen Quang reservoir, by 9 am on December 31, the upstream water level reached 119.88m; water flow to the reservoir reached 117m3/s; total discharge volume 112.59m3/s.
Implementing the inter-reservoir operation process on the Red River basin, Tuyen Quang Hydropower Plant has closed the bottom discharge gate of Tuyen Quang hydropower reservoir, currently only maintaining power generation through units.
As of 9 am on December 31, Son La reservoir recorded upstream water level reaching 214,8m; water flow to the reservoir 155m3/s; total discharge volume 261m3/s. Currently, the unit has closed all bottom discharge gates, only maintaining power generation through generating units to regulate downstream flow.
A similar situation occurred at Lai Chau reservoir, where the upstream water level reached 294.9m; water flow to the reservoir reached 355m3/s; total discharge volume 351m3/s. Currently, Lai Chau Hydropower Plant has also closed all surface discharge gates, only operating power generation through units.
At Thac Ba reservoir, as of 9 am on December 31, the upstream water level reached 57.83m; water flow to the reservoir reached 122m3/s; total discharge volume 271.36m3/s; no overflow discharge.
