More than double the loan amount
For many years now, people in Bo Trach district (Quang Binh province) have had the conditions to build and repair water and sanitation works from loans for the clean water supply and rural environmental sanitation program of the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies (VBSP).
From there, it helps households have a clean, on-site water source for use as well as a guaranteed toilet, partly improving the quality of the living environment and minimizing related diseases.
In particular, from September 2, this source of capital will continue to be effective when the loan amount is increased from 10 million VND to 25 million VND/project. The increase in loan amount will help households have the conditions to choose to build suitable and higher quality projects.
The loan increase is implemented according to Decision No. 10/2024/QD-TTg dated July 15, 2024 on credit for clean water supply and rural environmental sanitation.
Accordingly, the borrowers are households residing in rural areas (where they are registered as permanent or temporary residents) that do not have water supply facilities or household sanitation facilities, or have them but they are damaged and need to be newly built, upgraded, renovated or repaired.
As soon as the decision was made, the People's Committee of Bo Trach district held a meeting with relevant departments, communes and towns to strengthen information work, widely disseminate and publicize policies, beneficiaries, conditions, processes and procedures for lending to all classes of people.
The units also coordinate with associations and organizations that receive the authorization to review the subjects in need, meet the conditions and guide the borrowers to complete the documents and procedures to organize the disbursement according to regulations. At the same time, from the reviewed loan needs, synthesize and report to the provincial branch of the Social Policy Bank to arrange sufficient capital for loans according to regulations.
Disbursement of more than 3.6 billion VND
Mr. Nguyen Huu Hong - Vice Chairman of Bo Trach District People's Committee said that the district also thoroughly instructed the staff to seriously study the professional documents and implement the loan in accordance with the procedures, limiting errors in the implementation process; promptly train and guide the staff and coordinating units on new policies and guidelines.
Most recently, on September 18, the fixed commune transaction session at the People's Committee of Xuan Trach commune (Bo Trach district) disbursed funds to increase the level of the clean water supply and rural environmental sanitation program for 73 customers with an amount of more than 3.6 billion VND.
According to general assessment, with the new loan amount, households can use it to build new or repair clean water and sanitation facilities according to their family's needs, suitable for their intended use. At the same time, it contributes to improving the quality of the project, ensuring long-term durability and aesthetics.
In order for people to understand and access the credit policy for clean water supply and rural environmental sanitation in the coming time, Mr. Mai Ngoc Son - Director of the Social Policy Bank of Bo Trach district said that the unit maintains coordination with associations, unions at district level, communes and towns to actively propagate to the people; at the same time, continue to promptly disburse other credit programs. Thereby, creating conditions for people to have a source of funds to continue to invest in economic development and improve the quality of life.
