Recently, many people from Binh Phuoc province (formerly) have come to Dong Nai to work, complaining about the serious deterioration of the Thu Bien - Dat Cuoc road (through Thuong Tan commune, Ho Chi Minh City).
This is an important route connecting Ho Chi Minh City with Dong Nai province through Thu Bien Bridge. After a period of operation, some sections have been degraded and severely damaged.
According to records, the surface of Thu Bien - Dat Cuoc road is currently littered with "elephant and chicken potholes", affecting traffic safety.

At the intersection from Vuon Dau intersection to Thu Bien bridge, the road surface has many "elephant holes" and "potholes". To avoid the hole collapsing, many vehicles had to move slowly to avoid it. Some vehicles even avoided it so they fell onto the roadside. Motorbikes and cars jostle each other on the same side of the road to cross this section.
About 3km away, a section of the road was eroded. Dump trucks carrying rocks continuously in and out and drop rocks, causing the road surface to deteriorate faster.
The Thu Bien - Dat Cuoc road section passing through Thuong Tan commune, although the maximum speed is 60 km/h, vehicles passing through here can only travel about 20-30 km/h. When traveling here, drivers must let their vehicles run slowly if they do not want to " run around" or have an accident.

The degraded road has made local people lament. In addition, many cadres and people from Binh Phuoc to Dong Nai passing through here are also frustrated.
It is known that the Thu Bien - Dat Cuoc road through Thuong Tan commune is 6.9km long. The road appeared at about 20 locations with holes about 20cm deep, 0.8m to 3m wide. Currently, the People's Committee of Thuong Tan commune has reported the situation to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Construction and requested a handling plan soon.

The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Construction has also issued an official dispatch, requesting relevant units to focus on repairing and overcoming the damage. In particular, priority is given to promptly handling the "potholes" and "elephant holes" at the beginning of the route and the intersection of the road leading to Thu Bien Bridge with DT.746 road (belonging to the project to Upgrade and Expand DT.746 road from Go Bridge to Hieu Liem ferry terminal).
