Early on May 25, village officials and many people came to support the family of Mr. Dang Quoc Que (born in 1969, residing in Ky Cac village, Tan Lam Huong commune) to pick up the wet rice and onto a three-wheeled vehicle to transport it to the house of a household in the village with a factory on a high place to spread it out, to avoid damage and sprouting.
Mr. Que said that on the afternoon of May 24, his family harvested rice and transported dozens of bags of rice to leave in the fields. At night, the family fell asleep due to fatigue, heavy rain, and rapid water surges, causing many tons of rice to be wet.

"Hopefully the sun will soon return so that my family can dry the rice wet and reduce damage. If there is no sunshine and rice sprouts, we can only sell rice cheaply to people to ground for livestock to eat," Mr. Que shared.
Mr. Dang Hoang Le - Head of Ky Cac village - said that heavy rain and water pouring in quickly overnight caused about 25 households to enter their houses and fields, causing rice to be wet.
In addition, about 3 hectares of unharvested rice outside the fields were flooded and affected.




Mr. Nguyen Van Duong - Chairman of Cam My Commune People's Committee (Cam Xuyen District) said that the sudden flood at night caused great damage to the people of Cam My Commune.
Preliminary statistics show that Cam My commune has more than 40 hectares that have not been harvested and are flooded, about 200 tons of harvested rice are brought home and are wet, about 80 hectares of peanuts and corn are flooded, and about 2,000 poultry are lost. The number of affected households is about 700.



Mr. Vo Ta Ky - Chairman of the People's Committee of Cam Due commune (Cam Xuyen district) said that heavy rain on the night of May 24 and early morning of May 25 caused water from upstream to flow quickly, causing deep flooding into the houses of many households, some places were flooded nearly 1m deep.
According to Mr. Ky, many roads in Cam Due commune are currently deeply flooded, causing local isolation.
"Heavy rain, water poured in quickly at night, so many households had rice, chickens, ducks and some other assets gone," Mr. Ky shared.
That same night, local authorities mobilized police, military, and shock troops from villages to evacuate the elderly and children; at the same time, helping people raise their assets.

In Huong Khe, Thach Ha districts, Ha Tinh city, Ky Anh district, Loc Ha district, Vu Quang district, Duc Tho... there was also heavy rain causing local flooding in some places.
In Loc Yen commune, Huong Khe district, on the morning of May 25, the commune police force and the military command of the commune used a motorboat to organize rescue when Mr. Nguyen Van Hoa in Yen Binh village was isolated by the river in a hut due to deep water. Fortunately, the rescue was successful, bringing Mr. Hoa home safely.
The Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue of Ha Tinh province said that heavy rain on the evening of May 24 and early morning of May 25 caused flooding in some localities. Currently, this unit is compiling damage data to propose support plans.
