Nghe An collects more than VND6,300 billion in budget in the first quarter of 2025

Nghe An - In the first quarter of 2025, total state budget revenue in the province reached more than VND 6,311 billion, equal to 99.9% over the same period, reaching 35.6% of the annual estimate.

The above information was released at the regular meeting in March 2025 organized by Nghe An Provincial People's Committee on March 3. Presiding over the meeting, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Hong Vinh said that the 2025 growth goal of the province was 10.5% according to the Government's target assigned. Therefore, all levels and sectors need to focus drastically and synchronously solutions to successfully implement the set targets.

Reported at the meeting, Director of Department of Finance Trinh Thanh Hai said that domestic revenue in the first quarter reached 5,954 billion dong, equaling 100.5% compared to the same period in 2024, accounting for a large proportion of the total budget revenue in the whole province. Meanwhile, revenue from import -export activities reached 293.6 billion dong, equal to 74.6% of the same period, reaching 18% of the yearly estimate.

Gross regional domestic product (GRDP) growth in the first quarter of 2025 is estimated at 8%, ranking 2nd in the North Central region and 27th in the country. This is the highest growth rate in the first quarter of the past 5 years, showing a strong recovery signal for the local economy.

The industrial - construction sector continues to play a leading role with an increase of 11%, of which industry increased by 11.07%. The industrial production index increased by 10.74%, mainly thanks to the contribution of the processing, manufacturing and mining industries. The service sector increased by 7.02%; total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue reached more than VND 46,000 billion, up 27%.

In terms of exports, the turnover in the first quarter reached about 840 million USD, up 30.7% over the same period. The number of tourists to Nghe An is estimated at 2.22 million, bringing in tourism service revenue of 24.84%.

The disbursement of public investment capital reached 11.25%, equivalent to more than 1,125 billion VND, of which the concentrated public investment capital reached 11.15%. The Provincial People's Committee has established 5 working groups to inspect, urge, and remove difficulties for sectors and fields.

In the field of new rural construction, the whole province currently has 275/362 communes meeting the standards, of which more than 100 communes meet the advanced standards. The OCOP program has been effectively implemented with 712 products achieving 3 stars or more, of which 2 products have achieved 5 stars and 1 product has the potential to meet national standards.

Social security work is also focused on. The province has completed the construction and repair of houses for 306 poor and near-poor households and is implementing support for an additional 559 households. In addition, Nghe An has also completed 1,675 social housing apartments for workers and low-income people under the 1 million apartment project for the period 2021-2030.
