On December 5, the volunteer team for sea turtle conservation in Vinh Thai commune (Vinh Linh district, Quang Tri province) released a green turtle (also known as a hawksbill turtle) back into the natural environment.
Previously, on the night of December 4, fishermen Vo Van Lien, Tran Nhu Dung, and Nguyen Xuan Lam, all from Dong Luat village (Vinh Thai commune), cast their nets to catch aquatic products in the waters of Vinh Thai commune.
When collecting the net, a hawksbill sea turtle was found entangled in the net. The hawksbill sea turtle was brought ashore and the fishermen reported it to the Vinh Thai Commune Sea Turtle Conservation Volunteer Team.
The individual hawksbill turtle is 80cm long, 54cm wide, and weighs about 15kg.
The Vinh Thai sea turtle conservation volunteer team conducted rescue steps, entered the identification code and released this hawksbill turtle back to the safe marine environment.
It is known that this is the 4th time Mr. Vo Van Lien's boat team has discovered and rescued sea turtles.
