Improve your income by knowing how to cook
From the beginning of 2024 until now, the Dak Glong District Vocational Education - Continuing Education Center has implemented 2 cooking classes for local people with a total of 53 students.
Students who participate in the elementary cooking class will undergo a training period of less than 3 months and will be completely exempted from tuition fees. During the training process, students will be introduced to Vietnamese culinary culture and the unique characteristics of each dish.
Each student participating in the class will be taught knowledge and skills in preparing dishes, from preparing ingredients, preliminary processing, processing to decorating and presenting dishes.
Ms. H'oi, in Dak Glong district, said: "I have had a passion for cooking since I was a child. Therefore, as soon as I learned that the Dak Glong District Vocational Education and Continuing Education Center opened a cooking class, I invited many others to register to study."
According to Ms. H'oi, the class was very fun, the teachers were friendly, and taught students many new cooking skills. After finishing the course, I was able to prepare delicious meals for my family and planned to apply for a job at a local restaurant to improve my income.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Nhung (officer of the Center for Vocational Education - Continuing Education of Dak Glong district) shared: "I was assigned to manage a cooking class for women in the district. Most of the students are attentive and passionate about this profession."
According to Ms. Nhung, workers who attend the class first want to be able to cook delicious meals for their families to enjoy. After that, they can also apply to work as chefs, serving at restaurants in the area.
From there, increase income and improve family economy. The encouraging thing is that many people have overcome difficulties, escaped poverty and have a stable income from cooking.
Ensure professional skills for students
Mr. Hoang Huy Tung - Director of the Center for Vocational Education - Continuing Education of Dak Glong district informed that, through a survey, the cooking profession has attracted many women in the area to register to study because of the practical needs of society.
Besides students who come here to learn skills to open restaurants, eateries, and serve companies, there are also many people who come here for the simple reason of doing housework.
Eating well and dressing well are the needs of life in both cities and rural areas when people's income increases and economic conditions are abundant.
Therefore, the Dak Glong District Vocational Education and Continuing Education Center always creates the most favorable conditions for students to practice and cook delicious dishes according to standards. This has aroused the interest of students, as evidenced by the high graduation rate.
"In the past time, the unit received the direction of the District People's Committee and good coordination from the People's Committees of the communes, so the work of recruiting and managing students has been significantly improved. Since then, the quality of vocational training classes has improved, the rate of students having jobs after training in the area is very high.
Most notably, the district has trained a number of rural workers with basic knowledge, skills, expertise, and techniques," Mr. Tung added.
