Inter-commune road is seriously degraded
The inter-commune road connecting the center of Loc Duc commune (Bao Lam district) to Doan Thi Diem street (Loc Thanh commune, Bao Loc city) is 3.2km long. This is an important traffic route, serving the travel and freight transportation needs of many people.
In 2016, the authorities of Loc Duc and Loc Ngai communes mobilized people to contribute counterpart funds to build the road, with a rate of 30% from the people and 70% from the State.
However, after the people paid, only 2.2km of the section from Doan Thi Diem Street to the beginning of Village 6 was constructed and put into use. The remaining 1km section connecting to the center of Loc Duc commune is now being "forgotten".
According to records, this 1km section of road is only paved with stone, has never been completed and is now seriously degraded. The road surface is bumpy, full of potholes. Even in many sections, subsidence creates deep holes, posing a potential risk to traffic safety.
In 2016, Mr. Nguyen Van Tien, in Loc Duc commune, paid more than 4 million VND in counterpart money to build a road, calculated at 250,000 VND/m2 of frontage.
Similarly, Ms. Nguyen Thi Chin in this locality also paid more than 12 million VND. "People have paid, but the road is still not being built. Heavy trucks are traveling a lot, causing the road to become increasingly damaged. Accidents often occur, mainly motorcyclists falling. The lives of hundreds of households were severely affected, Ms. Chin was upset.
Mr. Pham Van Thai, Loc Ngai commune said: "Drowning is muddy during the rainy season, and stagnant water turns muddy. During the dry season, dust flies everywhere, affecting the health and daily life of people on both sides of the road. Despite repeated requests, the repair has not been carried out yet.
"My family once helped two people who fell due to bad roads. Every time it rains heavily, water and mud flood into the yard, miserable for the road. We just hope to soon have a new road to travel safely, but waiting for a long time, we still haven't seen any changes" - Mr. Pham Binh Dien, a household living close to the road shared more.

Fatigue waiting for a new road
Regarding this issue, Mr. Bui Hoang Giang - Chairman of Loc Duc Commune People's Committee confirmed that about 1km of the co-ordinated road has not been invested in and built and has been degraded for nearly 10 years. Local voters have repeatedly petitioned because travel and transportation of goods are very difficult.
Currently, this route has been included in Resolution No. 343 dated December 10, 2024 by the Lam Dong Provincial People's Council in the public investment plan for 2025. The project has a total investment of 50 billion VND, including the construction of the main route and some connecting branches.
This is an important traffic route, connecting Loc Duc commune and part of Loc Ngai commune with Bao Loc city. When completed, the route will not only help people travel conveniently but also create conditions to promote local socio-economic development.
While waiting for the project to be implemented, the commune will recommend that the district allocate temporary repair funds to ensure the safety of the people.
Mr. Nguyen Duc Cuong - Chairman of Loc Ngai Commune People's Committee said that the deterioration of the road has directly affected many households.
The commune government has compiled the feedback from the people and reported to the superiors, and expressed its desire to soon invest in construction to ensure smooth traffic and stabilize people's lives.
