The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has just issued a plan to organize a vote and announce 50 outstanding events and activities of Ho Chi Minh City towards the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).
The program is organized to raise public awareness of the socio-economic development results that Ho Chi Minh City has achieved over the past half century. At the same time, it aims to promote the image and brand of the city, demonstrating the positive contribution of Ho Chi Minh City to the Southeast region and the whole country.
Through the wide promotion of achievements and outstanding activities in many fields, the program is expected to arouse the pride and solidarity of the people of Ho Chi Minh City. In particular, the program will contribute to motivating the team of cadres, civil servants, public employees, workers and armed forces to excellently complete their tasks, practically celebrating this important milestone.
The selected events and activities must ensure high generality, have positive spreading impacts, and clearly reflect the characteristics of the people and culture of Ho Chi Minh City.
These events can be outstanding works, achievements, or movements that create a special mark not only for the city but also have inter-regional or national influence.
In particular, events must receive consensus and support from all walks of life as well as organizations, as demonstrated through evaluation results from agencies and social consensus.
The time period for events in the voting list will start from after April 30, 1975 until before April 30, 2025.
Departments, branches, sectors, Thu Duc City People's Committee, districts and related units will be responsible for nominating outstanding events, representing all areas of the city. After that, these events will be compiled by the Support Team and sent to the Voting Council to select the final list.
Voting will be conducted via an online application, allowing the public to select up to 50 events from a nomination list.
In addition, citizens can also propose additional events and if an event receives more than 30% of nominations, the Council will consider adding that event to the official list.
The deadline for agencies and organizations to nominate events will be December 10, 2024. The task force will compile the list of events by December 15, 2024.
The public voting process is expected to take place from January 10, 2025 to January 25, 2025. The Voting Council will then meet to consider selecting 50 events in February 2025.
