On the morning of December 18, speaking with a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, the leader of the People's Committee of Loc Vuong Ward (Nam Dinh City) confirmed that a fire had just occurred in a house in the ward, killing a man.
Initial information, at around 7:30 pm last night (December 17), people discovered that the second floor of a house in lane 95, Bai street (Loc Vuong ward, Nam Dinh city) was on fire, causing the death of Mr. P.D.M (born in 1989).
"Through initial investigation by the authorities, the incident was caused by a self-immolation using gasoline, leading to death on the second floor. People on the first floor of the house were able to escape," said the leader of the People's Committee of Loc Vuong ward.
According to people living nearby, before the incident, they heard loud voices inside the house. A moment later, the second floor of the house caught fire and there was a strong smell of gasoline.
Upon receiving the news, the authorities arrived at the scene to deploy a plan to extinguish the fire.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the cause of the incident.
