On December 28, information from the Tuy Hoa City Forest Protection Department (Phu Yen) said that the unit received a brown hornbill (scientific name Anorrhinus austeni) weighing 0.6 kg from Ms. Nguyen Thi My Trinh - a resident of Phu Dong ward (Tuy Hoa city).
According to Ms. Trinh, the brown heron flew into the garden and got caught in the chicken coop net. After investigating, Ms. Trinh knew that this was a rare bird that needed to be protected, so she handed it over to the forest rangers.
Immediately afterwards, Tuy Hoa City Forest Ranger Department completed the procedures to release the bird back into the natural environment.
It is known that the brown hornbill belongs to group IB, is an endangered and rare forest animal. The habitat of the brown hornbill is mainly evergreen broadleaf forest and secondary forest.
