Hoa Binh - Hundreds of households in Doan Ket and Tan Minh communes, Da Bac district agreed to donate land to repair more than 12 km of road with a total investment of more than 100 billion VND.

On February 13, according to the reporter of Lao Dong Newspaper, the project "Renovation and repair of district road DH.34 from the intersection of Enh commune, Tan Minh commune - Yen Hoa commune, Da Bac district" about 12 km long has had many changes.

During the land clearance process, hundreds of households from Doan Ket and Tan Minh communes agreed to donate land to renovate and repair inter-commune roads.

Talking to reporters, Mr. Ly Van Toan - Head of Tham Luong hamlet, Doan Ket commune said: "In the hamlet, there are 39 households donating land, mostly rice fields, residential land and production land. People all hope to have wide and beautiful roads, convenient trade of goods, and better economic development."

According to Mr. Toan, the project to renovate and repair DH.34 road is a project under the national target program, so there is no funding to support or compensate for site clearance. During the project implementation, many households will have their land and assets on the land recovered, but will not receive compensation or support. If the propaganda and mobilization work is not done well, the lack of consensus from the people can easily lead to complaints and denunciations and affect the construction progress.

“The government organized neighborhood meetings to publicize the purpose, meaning, and practical benefits of road expansion for the people. For households that did not agree, they went directly to their homes to persuade and explain so that the people would trust and follow,” said Mr. Toan.

Mr. Ly Van Son's family - living in Tham Luong hamlet said that when they heard that the commune was calling for land donations to build the road, his family agreed to contribute more than 150 square meters of land (including 50 square meters of rice fields and more than 100 square meters of garden land) where the road passes.

“In addition to my family, hundreds of other families in the commune agreed to donate tens of thousands of square meters of land to build the road. Although they did not receive compensation or support, the people were still happy and excited because the spacious and spacious road was the long-standing dream of the Muong, Tay, and Dao ethnic groups in Doan Ket and Tan Minh communes,” Mr. Son shared.

Mr. Dinh Van Thu - Chairman of the People's Committee of Doan Ket commune said: "The project to renovate and upgrade district road DH.34 has a total length of more than 12 km, of which nearly 10 km passes through Doan Ket commune. During the process of site clearance, the commune mobilized 54 households to agree to donate more than 26,000 m2 of various types of land and many assets on the land, with a total estimated value of up to billions of VND".

According to Mr. Thu, to do this, the commune government coordinated with the hamlet's mass organizations to mobilize and analyze so that people could understand and agree.

In order to promptly recognize and encourage the contributions of the people, the commune organized the awarding of certificates of merit to households that donated land on the occasion of the Great Solidarity Day. Up to now, in the two communes of Doan Ket and Tan Minh, there have been no complaints, petitions or feedback from the people regarding the issue of land acquisition and site clearance for project implementation.

“This is a project with a total investment of 105 billion VND, under the national target program for socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas, and will start construction in December 2023,” Mr. Thu said.

According to information from the Management Board of Investment, Construction and Land Fund Development Project of Da Bac district, up to now, the project of Upgrading and repairing district roads (DH.34) from Enh intersection, Tan Minh commune - Yen Hoa commune has basically reached 95% of progress, and is expected to complete construction by March 10, 2025.
