At about 9:30 a.m. on December 19, on the connecting road from Km 11+500 of Provincial Road 393 to Doan Tung 2 Industrial Cluster in Doan Tung Commune (Thanh Mien District, Hai Duong Province), a fatal traffic accident occurred.
The traffic accident occurred between a tractor-trailer with license plate 34F-005.59 pulling a trailer with license plate 34R-039.79 driven by Mr. Nguyen Ta Hien (born in 1974, permanent residence in Ngoc Lam village, Tan Ky commune, Tu Ky district, Hai Duong province) going from Doan Tung commune to Hong Quang, turning into Doan Tung 2 Industrial Cluster, and colliding with Ms. Trinh Thi Ch (born in 1948, permanent residence in Hong Quang commune, Thanh Mien district, Hai Duong province) riding a bicycle in the same direction.
The accident resulted in Ms. Ch dying at the scene. The initial cause was believed to be that driver Nguyen Ta Hien was not paying attention and caused the accident.
Currently, Thanh Mien District Police and relevant agencies are investigating the cause of the incident.
According to the Traffic Police Team (Thanh Mien District Police), since the beginning of the year, there have been 15 traffic accidents in Thanh Mien District, killing 6 people and injuring 12 others, a decrease in all 3 criteria compared to the same period in 2023. This is the only locality in the province that has reduced all 3 criteria related to traffic accidents.
Also during the above period, Thanh Mien District Police discovered and handled 2,094 traffic violations, imposing a total fine of VND 6.76 billion, an increase of 600 cases and VND 2.44 billion compared to the same period in 2023.
