On May 29, information from the People's Committee of Na Ri district (Bac Kan), the authorities have temporarily suspended the water pumping plan from the sinkhole in Kim Lu commune, after nearly a day of implementation.
This is the area where a serious accident occurred on the evening of May 26, when a motorbike driver fell into a death hole in the middle of the median strip on National Highway 3B.

After many unsuccessful rescue efforts, the authorities deployed a water pumping plan to support the search.
Up to now, this plan has had to be temporarily suspended after many days of implementation, due to complicated geological developments, strong underground water flow and mud continuously collapsing.
According to local authorities, the underground water is still flowing strongly, causing mud to continuously slide down, making it impossible for the water level to recede further.
In particular, continuing water pumping can cause large stone seams to the right of the pit (North Kan - Lang Son) collapse, not only hindering search but also increasing the risk of filling the bottom of the hole, reducing the ability to detect victims' bodies.

In addition, draining up groundwater is also warned of the potential risk of subsidence, affecting neighboring residential areas.
Despite the temporary suspension of pumping, Na Ri district still maintained forces at the scene, continued to deploy other search plans and closely followed the province's instructions.
As reported by Lao Dong Newspaper, at around 9:34 p.m. on May 26, at the subsidence point on National Highway 3B through Hiep Luc village, Kim Lu commune (Na Ri, Bac Kan), a motorbike driver fell down a barrier and fell into a deep hole.
As soon as they received the news, the authorities were present at the scene and organized a search, but so far the victim's whereabouts have not been found.
The identity of the missing person was identified as Mr. Nguyen Duy Ph. (born in 1989, residing in Kim Hy commune, Na Ri district).
