Some people carried signs demanding the return of the structures that were taken away during the construction of the highway. Then, dozens of people stretched ropes across the road from Phu Tho to Tuyen Quang, gathering for more than an hour on the highway, causing traffic congestion.
According to Ms. Le Thi Thu Hien - Party Secretary, Chairman of the People's Council of Doi Binh commune, the cause of the incident was because the people requested the government to implement the planning of the Hung Quoc village sports field. Because in 2021, this sports field was reclaimed to build the expressway.
At the time of project implementation, nearly 1,800 m2 of land was reclaimed to build a sports facility. The reclaiming of the old sports field land was in accordance with regulations.
According to the Secretary of Doi Binh Commune, the People's Committee of Yen Son District has planned to build a new sports field with an area of nearly 1,700 m2. Due to the lack of funding for construction, it will be implemented in the period of 2026 - 2030. However, the people still do not agree with this policy.
In addition, Hung Quoc villagers have petitions about investing in cultural houses and rearranging and building schools.
Regarding the construction of a cultural house, the current land location of the village is suitable for new construction. The Commune People's Committee has reported to the district to request financial support for the construction of the cultural house. The District People's Committee also specifically responded to the recommendations on the construction of primary schools, kindergartens and the rearrangement of classrooms.
Recently, on the Tuyen Quang - Phu Tho highway, there have been consecutive incidents causing traffic insecurity.
In early January 2024, many people brought trees to block the Tuyen Quang - Phu Tho highway, causing traffic insecurity at Km33.
On March 19, Mr. P.V.S (residing in Van Du commune, Doan Hung district, Phu Tho province) brought steel wire to block the Tuyen Quang - Phu Tho highway, blocking vehicles traveling at high speed. The incident caused panic among many drivers.
