Hanoi - A representative of Hanoi Metro has just informed Lao Dong Newspaper about the reason why some elevators on the Cat Linh - Ha Dong urban railway line have temporarily stopped operating.

A survey by Lao Dong Newspaper reporters in recent days shows that the elevator and escalator system at some stations of the Cat Linh - Ha Dong urban railway line is not working, making it difficult for people to move to the station.

At Ring Road 3 Station (towards Cat Linh) on the morning of April 8, the elevator system serving the disabled, pregnant women and the elderly is temporarily suspended, along with a notice board "the elevator is under repair".

Notably, part of the escalator system at Ring Road 3 station (towards Cat Linh) has shown signs of deterioration for a long time but has not been repaired yet. This affects the operation of the escalator system when the weather is bad.

At Lang Station (towards Cat Linh), the elevator system for priority groups is also not working. At the same time, the escalator at this station was temporarily suspended for repairs.

Because both elevators and escalators have stopped operating, people have no choice but to take the stairs to reach the station.

Speaking to Lao Dong on April 9, a representative of Hanoi Railway One Member Co., Ltd. (Hanoi Metro) said that some elevators on the Cat Linh - Ha Dong railway line have been temporarily suspended for repair and maintenance.

However, because some spare parts and replacement equipment have to be imported from Europe and have not yet returned to Vietnam, the repair will take more time.

A representative of Hanoi Metro said that the Cat Linh - Ha Dong route has 12 stations with 13 reception halls (cat Linh station alone has 2 reception halls A and B).

Each station has 2 elevator systems arranged on both sides of the road; in case one side has a problem, passengers can temporarily move to the elevator on the opposite side.

In addition, each station has 3 moving systems including elevators, escalators and escalators. The elevator is designed specifically for priority groups such as the elderly, the disabled, and pregnant women. However, reality shows that many passengers who are not priority subjects still use elevators to get on and off the train.

According to a representative of Hanoi Metro, after a period of operation, the elevator system of the Cat Linh - Ha Dong route has reached a major maintenance period.

To ensure the durability and longevity of the equipment, Hanoi Metro recommends that people who are not in the priority group should limit the use of elevators, especially during peak hours, to avoid causing inconvenience to those who really need it.

The representative of Hanoi Metro also said that the elevator system on the Cat Linh - Ha Dong route is imported from Germany and is periodically maintained according to the manufacturer's standards.

Currently, the unit is urgently completing the repair work. Currently, the elevator system at Ring Road 3 station has been repaired by the evening of April 8. Hanoi Metro hopes that people will sympathize and share the temporary inconveniences during the repair process.
