At around 6:00 p.m. on December 2, a fire broke out at a factory specializing in assembling rice cookers in Yen My commune, with an area of about 300 m2. The fire broke out from inside the workshop, accompanied by a column of black smoke rising high, causing many people around to panic and come out to watch. The fire quickly spread to areas containing flammable materials, creating loud explosions from electrical equipment, smoke covering almost the entire factory area.
Speaking to Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Trinh Hong Tuyen - Chairman of Yen My Commune People's Committee said that as soon as receiving the report, the authorities coordinated with the people to deploy measures to put out the fire, limiting the fire from spreading to surrounding areas. At around 7pm the same day, the fire was completely controlled. Fortunately, there were no human casualties.

The scene of the fire was still blocked by the Commune People's Committee to serve the investigation of the cause. People who witnessed the fire said that thanks to the quick response of the Fire Prevention and Fighting Force and the timely coordination of the locality, the fire did not spread to neighboring workshops, ensuring safety for the community.
Mr. Tuyen said that the authorities are clarifying the cause of the fire and will announce the results after having full information. The incident once again reminds the need to comply with fire safety measures in production facilities and processing workshops, especially when using a lot of electrical equipment and flammable materials.
