On the evening of February 16, information from the Organizing Committee of Lao Cai City Party Committee (Lao Cai Province) said that many cadres, including key leaders, have asked for early retirement to contribute to the implementation of the policy of innovation and improvement of the local political apparatus; at the same time, creating conditions for the younger generation to have opportunities to develop.

A typical example is Mr. Do Truong Son - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Lao Cai City People's Council.

After consideration, the Standing Committee of Lao Cai Provincial Party Committee decided to allow Mr. Do Truong Son to retire early from February 10, 2025.
